I saw many homeless people (about 100 people) on Hasting St (near Main St) a couple weeks ago's evening. People were sitting and hanging without anything on the sidewalk. I also saw that 10-15 people were waiting on a line to get something on the street as if they were waiting a supply from somebody. The scene reminded me a picture of poor people, whose town and houses were destroyed by war.
